Planning Undawnted's 2022 Calendar: What Do You Want to See More Of?

Plan, to plan, planning... sounds like an excuse for colored pens and an array of stickers.

And, you would be correct.

2022 is going to be high energy for Undawnted. More writing, publishing, and publications. Nothing says dedication like exhaustion.

Click for Chapbook Here
Undawnted has:

  • Social media interactions
  • Original, award-level poetry
  • Designer apparel
  • Authentic storytelling
  • Book and Movie Reviews
  • Fine Art print productions
  • Seasonal Reads

So there is much that can be cataloged onto a calendar.

Undawnted likes all that is happening in our little corner of the internet, but what makes Undawnted stand out from the crowd?

What would you like to see?

A psychotic painting elephant? Done!

Have a great and wonderful day!

Seasonal Outlook for New Opportunities

I wanted something more for Undawnted as to the change of seasons.

Therefore, I created four different book covers: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. I wanted to jot down how the seasons reflected my inner dialogue. These books will be an amalgamation of art, prose, and poetry.

If others would like to join this e-book, then I can make an anthology series. I would publish the books under the Sonoran Dawn Studios (my publishing house) banner. If no one joins this unique series, then I will write it off as C'est la vie, such as life.

Here are the book covers so far.

If you would like to participate, please drop me a line using the Contact Form.

Have a great and seasonal day!

Amazon Kindle, Here Comes Undawnted's DL Mullan in 2022!

Undawnted is currently moving available titles to a larger platform than Lulu in the coming year.

A few concerns about the current publishing platform have arisen as some readers cannot access, download, titles. In light of this realization, Undawnted will be transferring our publications to this other platform beginning in 2022.

If a title cannot be downloaded during this time, you have our apologies, but we are making strides to have our publications available to a wider range of readers with the ease of accessibility.

Thank you for your patience.

Have a great and wonderful day.

WordCrafter Blog Tour, Robbie Cheadle's Poetry Collection: Behind Closed Doors Review

Poetry is a difficult craft to mold one's own ideas into as a creative process. Words are often written, even spoken, out of context with idioms, axioms, metaphors, and cliches to add further complications. Poetry is even more challenging than grammar when expected to follow certain rhyme schemes or cadences.

Behind Closed Doors is a poetry book that marries the conventional with the creative. The poems are stream of consciousness illustrations of life, love, and remembrance. Unusual thoughts that show us the world we live in through another person's point of view, but is that so unusual? Or, is the uncommon often seen in the simple and direct in times of uncertainty?

Everyday life and the people we associate ourselves with are how we see ourselves and the outside world. In the section on the lockdowns, that is where Ms. Cheadle deepened her reach into our emotions. With the poem "No Contact," she expressed her feelings as a ghost with being insubstantial and unreal. This exhibited depth and resonance from which her creativity can only grow and take her writing to the next level of expression.

If you like to know more about Ms. Cheadle and her creative works, please check out the rest of the Blog Tour at Writing to be Read as well as her Youtube channel:

Have a great and wonderful day.

Behind Closed Doors, a collection of unusual poems

What goes on behind closed doors: in the boardroom, after death, in the home, during lockdown, and in nature? This collection of poems, ranging from rhyming verse to twisted nursery rhymes, captures the emotions and thoughts people hide behind the masks they present to the world.

What thoughts are hidden

Behind her immobile face

Quite expressionless

Eyes cold and indifferent

Scrutinising me – hawk like

This book includes some of Robbie Cheadle’s spectacular fondant art and cakes.

On My Poetry Forum for Review: Step on All of Us

Step on All of Us is a hybrid poem that blends the sixteen bars of a hip hop/rap and classical couplet poetry.

This poem is political in nature and the first of an upcoming chapbook called: United. This poem is being switched over to Undawnted's YouTube Channel. Subscribe and leave a comment.

No matter what your political leanings are, some truths cannot be argued. The media has destroyed our country with lies and manipulation. It is time to call this yellow journalism out. This poem is the first step in the creative writing community to do just that.

If you would like to read other poems by DL Mullan, be sure to search that forum for more of her selections under Undawnted.

Have a great and wonderful day.

Moving Away from Lulu and Other Fee-Based Platforms

I have been trying to publish my chapbooks and other stories, but fee based platforms have gotten their rules and polices in the way.

That is quite disconcerting. All I want to do is publish my poetry and novels. I didn't believe such actions warranted an IRS form and forced revenue edict. I am disabled. I am not going to make enough to pay taxes on for years.

I am not in the biz to make a landslide. I love to entertain. That's what I do in the creative writing field. I am too ill for book tours or anything else. It's to keep my mind busy while I am stuck most days in bed (22+ hours, most of that is zzzz).

I have loads of experience in various fields as well as a Masters degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology. My website is my stage and my classroom. Anyone who ventures here will receive a first rate creative writing, literature, mythology, and arts education.

So I find the demands of corporations and the IRS just a little comical to say the least. I will have to find a new way of communicating myself to my audience.

I'm taking suggestions.

Habitue did drop today. If you would like a copy, then let me know via my social media page on Facebook and Twitter where this article will be posted. It's a short chapbook with a handful of poems about habit forming behaviors.

Maybe make a donation of a few bucks to help me with my technology expenses? I do everything from scratch these days. So every penny is appreciated. I take Paypal. Maybe that will work...

See, I am still working out the rough patches.

Being a writer should not take a corporate intervention or demands of the IRS, I should be allowed to be the adult I am. I file my taxes as appropriate. I can do that with a simple printout of what I made between two dates as already available via the Lulu software in my account settings.

I think it's time to rethink the writing business because it's no business of anyone's except my own.

If the IRS disagrees, then maybe it is time to abolish the IRS.

Have a great and wonderful day.

Breathe in The Descent this Autumn Season

The Descent is "a darker breed of poetry."

As readers have wrote:
"As a genre poet myself, I have to tell you how much I enjoyed this."

"This is first for me. I have never read genre poetry before. I love it. Hugely imaginative and utterly unique..."

Breathe is one of those poems that settles into one's soul. So grab some chocolate and red wine. Then nestle with a blanket and a pet with a fire in the fireplace... as one reader suggested she did and enjoyed this poem in all its flavors, repeatedly. She added that:

"The poem is as scrumptious and sensual as it is dark and deep."

So delve deep into your sultry side with each breath.

Grab your copy today... The Descent.

_____

The Descent is getting a new cover!

DL Mullan created the cover art to better reflect the poetry within the pages of this darker breed of poetry.

Two Nominations on My Poetry Forum for the poem: Pretend

Poetry allows the writer to expand on ideas and philosophies. Pretend is such a poem about Existentialism. The poem is a mirror with which to see ourselves and our current status in religion, politics, and our own personal embodiment.

Pretend seems to spark that same sentiment in others as the poem was nominated twice on a poetry site.

The poem has garnered accolades including: "It's the best poem I have ever read" on a forum that has since closed.

Thank you so very much.

If you would like to read the poem for yourself and leave a review, then please head on over to Undawnted's YouTube Channel.
