Believe in Magic with Undawnted's Imaginative Poetry and Prose

Autumn is a magical time of the year.

Our temperatures moderate from the summer heat waves. The evenings turn crisp as we reach for our sweaters and hot cocoa. Ghosts and goblins haunt our steps... for candy!

And, our ancestors await our recognition.

Nights grow longer. Do you add more to your DVR? Or, would you like to curl up with something new? A book, perhaps?

Poetry and prose are great ways to spend time with yourself. Inside your imagination, let the characters and stories swirl around and create images in your mind. What do you see there in your mind's eye?

Reading is another great mechanism to expand your creativity by living in someone else's world. That energy can be used to fuel your own innovations.

What are your fiction favorites? Genre topics like vampires and werewolves?

Or, how about rhymes that are sublime to elevate the uneasy factor?

How about some satire?

Take the time to Believe in Magic along with Undawnted. Autumn Cider begins this magical time of year of holidays, celebrations, and parties. We have those get togethers scheduled throughout the rest of the year.

Join our community by bookmarking this site, commenting on our social media and video posts, follow us on Twitter and Youtube, liking our posts, as well as subscribe to Undawnted's A Novelist Idea newsletter

You, too, can experience the wonder of the changing seasons.

Have a wonderful and magical day,

Autumn Cider's The Power of Myth- Love and the Goddess

Apart of our 31 Days of Halloween celebration, we are reviewing the Power of Myth in our lives.

Where do our myths and legends come from?

"This is a prime myth in this period of the Goddess as the redeemer, the one who goes in quest of the lost spouse or lover, and through her loyalty and descent into the realm of death, recovers him. Isis and her husband Osiris were twins who were born of the goddess Nut. And their younger relatives were Seth and Nephthys, who were also twins born from Nut. Seth planned to kill his brother Osiris, and he took Osiris measurements secretly and had a wonderful sarcophagus built that would exactly fit Osiris. So there was a hilarious party in progress one time among the gods, and Seth trots in this sarcophagus, and he says, “Anyone whom this perfectly fits can have it as his sarcophagus.” And everybody at the party tried, and when Osiris got in, of course he perfectly fit. Just at that time, 72 accomplices come rushing out and they clap the lid on, strap it together and throw it in the Nile.

Poor little Isis, whose husband has been thrown into the Nile, starts this wonderful quest for Osiris, So she comes to the place where the palace is, and learns of the wonderful aroma and she suspects this is Osiris. And she gets a job as nurse to the just-born little child. Well, she lets the child nurse from her finger. And she loves the little child, and she decides to give it immortality. So she does this by placing him in the fireplace in the fire, to burn away gradually his mortal body. But being a goddess she could keep that from killing him, you understand. And when that would happen, she would convert herself into a swallow, and fly mournfully around the pillar where her husband is."

~Joseph Campbell, author of the Power of Myth

Breathe in The Descent this Autumn Season

The Descent is "a darker breed of poetry."

As readers have wrote:
"As a genre poet myself, I have to tell you how much I enjoyed this."

"This is first for me. I have never read genre poetry before. I love it. Hugely imaginative and utterly unique..."

Breathe is one of those poems that settles into one's soul. So grab some chocolate and red wine. Then nestle with a blanket and a pet with a fire in the fireplace... as one reader suggested she did and enjoyed this poem in all its flavors, repeatedly. She added that:

"The poem is as scrumptious and sensual as it is dark and deep."

So delve deep into your sultry side with each breath.

Grab your copy today... The Descent.

_____

The Descent is getting a new cover!

DL Mullan created the cover art to better reflect the poetry within the pages of this darker breed of poetry.

Coordinated Look for Special Engagements Seasonal Workshops

Undawnted needed to coordinate the lecture, poetry, and writer's workshops with the Seasonal Reads program.

So I went through old book cover designs that were created but have not been put into use. I chose a design from an earlier Hode mockup, and then I combined that with my Seasonal Reads images.

The end products are uniform as well as different for each season. Green and a shamrock for Spring Dreams. Purple and a hummingbird for Summer Time. Orange and a pumpkin wreath for Autumn Cider. Red and a snowman for Winter Frost.

Each workshop will be linked back to the season it is listed under.

This visualization will keep workshops straight as more and more lectures, poems, and writing workshops are published.

When workshops are then codified into separate mini-course certificates, then there will be no confusion on what course fits into which program.

So I hope you enjoy the cover designs as well as the workshop series I have created.

Have a great and wonderful day.
