Have You Ever Danced in The Rain?

Summer Time Seasonal Reads is proud to introduce, The Rain, to new readers.

This Long Form Poem describes life in the desert southwest during monsoon season. As the Sonoran Desert braces for another season of torrential rains, blowing dust, and microbursts, humans and creatures alike do anything to find shelter.

"A long meditative poem
that soothes the soul."

"You can hear the rain as you read along."

The Rain is an epic poem that follows the friendship of a woman and a grasshopper, who lives in her yard.

Long Form Poetry

There are times when one page cannot express the creative thought with enough precision that a poet needs to explore the idea further. Poets are then obliged to write until the story is complete, while adhering to their rhyme-scheme. Long Form Poems like the Iliad have been a favorite for centuries, and here are Undawnted's versions to entice the mind and tickle the senses.

I Guess Rejection Means: More for Me... in 2023!

From time to time, I help other authors and publishers with ideas. Some of those brainstorming sessions yield a visual creative piece for application. As Undawnted grows, the missed opportunities of others become integrated in-house.

For instance: Bent out of Love was a cover design that I formulated to help a struggling writer put his thoughts into a cohesive vision. After waiting a year, I made Bent Love into an upcoming Long Form poem.
Bent Love is the opposite of the Black Hearts Club. The Long Form poem is about a man down on his luck, but desperate to save his relationship with the woman he loves.

What would you do for love?

After writing the Black Hearts Club poem, I wanted to have a counterbalance to the "gave up on love" mantra. People change, and so do their feelings. One year, Valentine's Day is the worst day of their life. The next year, it may be their happiest. It's best to be prepared.

As well, to put a decade of Long Form Poetry into one publication, I am using the year-old Visions anthology cover design mockup I did. The artwork was not used for the anthology, and was sitting around on the computer gathering dust. So, now it will have a new purpose: Visionary.

I have two different collections of my poetry. Oracle will have the culmination of my Chapbook poetry; Visionary will house the compendium for the Long Form poems.

I will be adding and revising other poems to fit within these two forms as the year goes on. I wanted my poetry to be individualized. Readers can then take what they want: separate or encyclopedic.

Other additions that have been made are: Samhain, and Shamiscient. I have a horror chapbook that is under reconstruction thanks to a Lulu technical mishap, but I wanted to delve into the spiritual side of the Hero's Journey into the Unknown, as well as just write spiritual/shamanistic poetry. The Long Form poem: Galactic Ride, touched on this subject with much critical acclaim from readers. Therefore, I want to expand on this intriguing subject.

And, to the guy on Twitter a few months ago who made a spectacle out of himself because he hates my cover design work: stuff it. I don't like sexcapades on my book covers. My writing is good, and doesn't need hormones or fluff. If you don't like my covers, then you probably won't like my writing... so, you've saved both of us a trial by fire by walking down another isle in the bookstore.

However, I think my cover designs are innovative, fresh, and have motif-driven visual arts components that enhance my website as well as my writing. I have spent years honing my digital arts craft and until the world ends, I am going to do as much in-house creating as possible.

That is what a gifted polymath does.

2023 looks like a buffet of visual, symbolic, and rhyming delights. I hope you will join me this year as I bring more of my imagination into the realm of the unpredictable, insatiable, and undeniably... unleashed.

Thank you for visiting Undawnted.

Another Successful Release Party! Wild West and the Pueblo Diablo is Published

Welcome to Undawnted on this fine autumn day!

In the old west, when Arizona was still a territory, a devil began killing with impunity. A lone sheriff tracked this evil to a pueblo in the Sonoran Desert.

Would he and the villagers be able to defeat this malignant spirit?

We had our theme music: Intro: Rise Up Dead Man, and plenty of ambience.

What? You didn't know? Well, we can fix that issue: Join Undawnted's A Novelist Idea. Then you will be updated monthly on creative projects, inspiration, and release parties as well as many other activities.

Last night, Wild West and the Pueblo Diablo Release Party commenced with a scavenger hunt for free stuff to celebrate the publication of this Long Form poem.

If you love creativity, then you would get hooked on Undawnted.

Undisclosed Release Party is Tonight!

From 6pm to 9pm (MST/PST) on June 25, 2022, A Novelist Idea Newsletter will be hosting a release party for the Long Form poem: Undisclosed.

From the Undisclosed dedicated Undawnted page:

What is it about Ufology that grabs our attention? Are humans alone in the universe? Or, do we fantasize about the possibilities that other intelligent life roams our galaxy?

This long form poem is the creative twist on government cover-ups, calls for disclosure, as well as testimony of many whistleblowers.

"Truly an out of this world read."

 "Disclosure that entertains and rhymes!"

Are you being deceived about UFOs?

Additions and Updates to Our Poetry Sections

Undawnted has been doing some spring-cleaning, as it were, to our poetry line.

We are in the process of adding chapbooks like Supernatural Archaeology, and some others whose titles are tentative, but soon to be released on this site. In the Long Form poetry section, we have some great ideas for each seasonal reads. We have begun the process with the release of our Long Form poem: Galactic Ride in March 2022, and the upcoming chapbook release of Eclipse in May 2022. More goodies will be uploaded soon to our Chapbook section. Our goal is to have a long-form poem and chapbook for every month of the year.

After a large catalog of poetry has been published, then in November 2024, we will release: Oracle. This chapbook will celebrate 30 years of award- winning/level poetry from our own rhymer, DL Mullan.

She believes poetry is for everyone. Her poems are easy to read and digest. The meaning is what the reader brings to the words, but also Ms. Mullan conveys her own thoughts and feelings into the mix.

In the coming weeks and months, you will see this section change with exciting and even more provocative writings. Ms. Mullan challenges herself on every level to bring her audience the best writing and culture of the age. From poetry, prose, and digital art, there is no comparison to her commitment to the tangible legacy she is creating before your very eyes.

You can have curated... or you can have creative. Undawnted- where the imagination is fearless

Have a great and wonderful day.

The Scifi, Fantasy Poem Galactic Ride is Published and Now Available on Lulu

Galactic Ride is published on Celtic Heritage Day, no less. It is time to celebrate!

I would like to thank my fellow poets on My Poetry Forum for helping me with ideas and revisions to take a short form poem and create an epic science fiction, fantasy, and supernatural Long Form poem out of it.

This poem is quite the accomplishment. I hope everyone who reads its 99 lines will appreciate the subtle motifs and great rhyme scheme.

Genre poetry is in an arena all by itself.  You do not have to be a fan of science fiction, fantasy, or the supernatural to enjoy this piece. These readers were surprised:

"Awesome... just can't say enough about your poem."

"A Sci-Fi/Fantasy poem. Unusual, to me anyway, and an interesting change of pace..."

"...reminded me of the psychedelic era."

To learn more about Galactic Ride, please visit its dedicate page here on Undawnted.

Thank you for the support.

Have a great and wonderful day.

New Look for Psychotic Elephants

The last cover for Memoirs of a Psychotic Painting Elephant did not give the impression of anything psychedelic or elephanty.

To celebrate the beginning of this year's Winter Frost Seasonal Reads Program, Undawnted updated the long form poem's image.

I kept the theme going with different colored page headings... in neon inspired tones.

If you are going to be creative and have fun, you might as well go for it!

I hope you have fun with this poem as much as I did writing it.

The Rain Update

Updated cover art and a page all by itself. The Rain should have a great time attracting poetry fans.

The Rain: Monsoon in the Desert is a long tale in lyric form about the monsoon, storms, desert creatures, and a lone human looking out for Mother Earth's little lives.

This poem is epic.
