Sneak Peak: Apples to Oranges

I have been working on art as well as content these past few weeks.

Here is the book cover I created for my recipe, artistic, storytelling, educational cookbook: Apples to Oranges: Whole Foods for Whole Bodies.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, while an orange has more Vitamin C. Since apples to oranges imply comparison and contrast, this book will compare and contrast many different food topics while still entertaining you with art, poems, and recipes.

Here is an excerpt I have so far:
"And, cooking just like life is all about balance. In my years, I have spent more time in the kitchen than most teens and young adults. I have baked cookies, breads, bundts, cakes, and candy. I have cooked stews, chilis, ethnic foods, and American classics. I may not be a chef, but I am a down home cook."
So if you could help me fulfill my publishing dreams, I would appreciate your support. Read all about my plan:

Fantastic Starts and Political Ends

I know some of my readers are excited but perplexed about my nonfiction path.

I am in the middle of writing books of all sorts: fiction, nonfiction, poetry. How I feel on a given day is usually what I am writing. So that slows my process down, but what I discovered really stopped me from pursuing publication is twofold: politics and copyright.

With the world engaged with the TPP/TIPP,  I cannot in good conscious publish my books with Lulu, Amazon, or any other online retailer without having the full rights and protections afforded to me as the creator. I do not know how the world will change after these dictates are forced upon us by corporations.

I just can't.

As I speak to people online, in person, and over the phone, I realized I am creating all the hallmarks of various nonfiction books. One person also has invited me to speak on her radio show once she is all set up. I knew then I needed a plan.

I need talking points. I need reference materials. I need ISBN's.

So political ends turned into the fantastic start of Undawnted becoming a publisher.

It is all a work in progress so if you have already donated to the cause: Thank you so much. We are so very grateful.

If you are still thinking about donating, please have a look around Undawnted. All the Critical Acclaim is real. My awards are real. My bibliography is real. I set goals and accomplish them.

I hope you all have a great and wonderful day!

Funding for Book ISBN Request

I have been writing and researching some ideas for new nonfiction books.

Thank you for your patience while I was on hiatus. I tend to do that. It is all apart of the creative process.

As I was researching layouts and other book necessities, I found the Bowker ISBN website. Wow! Are buying ISBN's expensive.

By myself, there is no way to afford what I need and would like to do.

So I thought to myself, how can I raise money for this venture into the publishing world? I looked up crowdfunding websites. What a lot of rules and fees.

What else could I do?

Paypal. I have a Paypal account: foreverundawnted AT gmail DOT com. I will just ask supporters to pledge an amount in Paypal. Problem solved.

As I upload and reorganize my nonfiction book pages,  I hope you will find the time to spare a few dollars to get me to my $650 goal. The cost is not just the ISBN numbers but also to convert the numbers into a bar code.

If you donate and send me an email to foreverundawnted AT gmail DOT com with your donation information, I will give out prizes for levels of donations, such as:
  • $10 and Up - Your name will appear on my Thank You page
  • $25 - I will send a small selection of postcards with my original art on them to you via snail mail
  • $50 - I will write you a short poem (10 lines or under)
  • $75-  I will design a digital image with three of your favorite colors for a customized computer wall paper
  • $100 - I will send you an original digital image, signed and matted (11"x14" or under) of my choice to you for framing
  • any higher donation, I will make up something personal and special just for you...
Again Thank you for your generosity in advance.

I cannot wait to share my books with you,

DL Mullan
