Undawntech: Weaponized Technology for the Growing Mind is Available on Writing to be Read

Another delicious segment of Undawnted that fuses real world knowledge with the courage to tell truth to power is available.

Do you believe? Or, do you know?

Undawnted's DL Mullan explores how technology can free and enslave depending on how it is used, as well as how creative thinkers, like writers, can weaponize their quantum, organic brain to outwit the dystopian power grabbers and make your imagination yours again.

Find out the epic citations and conclusion in June's installment of Undawntech: Weaponized Technology for the Growing Mind

No Artificial Intelligence Used in the Creation of Art or Books by DL Mullan

It is a sad day when technology becomes such a crutch that a writer has to draw a line in the sand.

Readers as well as other writers are questioning the usage of applications and programs that take control away from human integrity.

For those readers in our audience who are interested in this topic, Undawnted does not utilize artificial intelligence, or A.I. in the creation of the art, poetry, or prose. If other writers wish to use this technology, that is for them to decide and let the readers know. As for the artist, author, and audio/visual creator, DL Mullan, she does not use products besides grammar and spell check applications.

Rest assured that when you purchase a chapbook, book, art item, you are buying a human created product from history, mythology, human imagination/ingenuity, and the craft of storytelling.

Thank you for your continued support,

Team Undawnted

Mangled is being Edited for a Horror Anthology

Mangled is a short story that will be submitted for an anthology set to be released in Autumn 2023. I am currently editing the project based on a few actual events, technology, medicine, and warfare. The narrative is a science fiction, paranormal horror story.

Have you ever heard of a morgue's black toe tag? Pray that one is never issued to you.

Here is the synopsis:

The only survivor of a roadside bomb, Specialist Sarah Mitchell lives most people's nightmare. Her entire squad is killed. In the bustle of a busy emergency triage center, she is forgotten.

Worse than being ignored, once she is reevaluated, she is then abandoned by the medical personnel. In order to take care of other soldiers who might live, she is given a black morgue tag, left tied down on a gurney where she waits for death in a dark corner of a foreign hospital.

When she survives until morning, others come to claim her. One by the use of technology and the other by energetic consciousness, but both manipulate the quantum singularity. In an experiment to merge human consciousness with machine, which will consume Sarah, what will she do?

Will she continue to serve her country in another capacity? Or, will she choose the unknown and walk into eternity with a complete stranger?

No matter what Sarah decides: living forever has its consequences.
For more information and upcoming news, be sure to visit Mangled here on Undawnted

This story is a part of Undawnted's Exclusive Legacy Universe. The short story version will be released in the anthology. The novelette will be dropped in spring 2024.

Have a great and wonderful day!

A Novelist Idea: To Newsletter or Not to Newsletter... That is the Question, Do you want to be on Another Mailing List?

Sad to say, but I don't enjoy mailing lists.

After I get what I want from a topic, I usually unsubscribe. Am I the only one who is like this?

I am working on getting a newsletter mailing list up and running for Undawnted, but the technology seems to be unsatisfactory. I guess you get what you pay for when the service is free. I am sure that is to push people into purchasing a product/service if they feel they are the reason that the free one doesn't work. It must be me! I need to pay for a service because I am so incapable.

Or, gullible?

Oops! Did I say the quiet part out loud? I have a habit of doing that. The truth just slips out into the atmosphere from my fingertips. In these times of reactionary politics, that turns into censorship, it is no wonder that I am in the wilderness alone.

That's a problem.

I mean, who I am going to outrun if I am chased by a hungry bear? I should probably invest in some climbing gear, or a jetpack. Truth be told, again, I have always wanted a jetpack.

Okay, back to the need for a newsletter and mailing list.

I already use my blog for this purpose. Is a blog that unsatisfactory? Do you all hate blogs but love being pestered by email? An inquiring mind wants to know.

Seriously, let me know on my social media accounts.

Have a great and auspicious day!

Special Engagements Now Rotates with the Seasons

Just as Undawnted's Seasonal Reads Program changes from season to season, we have added our Special Engagements to this rotation.

This combination helps with our seasonal theme and mythology. For instance, this winter's seasonal reads program is Winter Frost with our snowman.

It's that time of year to bring in some cheer!

Undawnted keeps the cold and dark nights warm with novels and poetry.

The complimentary imagery of a smaller snowman icon highlights the change of season to our newest addition: Special Engagements and keeps it in line with the rest of our site.

We hope this navigation is a lot more fluid than before. We know people are more visual on their devices so items like our images will be easier to find for those looking to read, write, or learn with us!

Creative writing is more than a movie script or image, writing is about taking the world around you, ingesting the nuances, and repackaging the real into the surreal.

We hope you have fun with our creative writing, readings, and special engagements.

Have a great and wonderful day!

*Update: all workshops and special engagements have now been concluded, and new projects are now under Undawnted's Substack.

A writer at heart, Undawnted's own creative spark, DL Mullan, began writing short stories and poetry before adolescence. Over the years, Ms. Mullan has showcased her literary talents by self-publishing several collections of her poetry. She also writes novels, designs apparel, and creates digital art. Ms. Mullan‘s creative writing is available in digital and print collections, from academia to commercial anthologies. As an independent publisher, she produces her own book cover designs as well as maintains her own websites. She is an award-winning digital artist and poet. Save Freedom of Speech from Book Burning Censors in Techland

I do not know about you but I have never voted in Google, Apple, Twitter, Facebook, or any other Silicon Valley technology company into public office.

Support Undawnted and Buy Great Gifts!
Technology like the internet, domain addresses, and other means like Icann were researched by DARPA and funded by the American taxpayer. So the technology companies who laud censorship for political and social control are in fact misusing the public trust and public's ownership of the world wide web. In addition, these companies began as the Public Square where everyone has an equal voice.

Technology usage by Silicon Valley is not cut and dry. Companies like Facebook have seesawed between being a public forum to recently redefining themselves as a publisher to cover their growing legal problems.

In order to combat this ever increasing censorship by technology companies, the pubic has ways to fight back. First, get a blog and state your case against censorship. Second, make your Congress critters aware of your disapproval of their lack of action against big tech. And, third, call the White House.

For those individuals directly affected by the unlawful and illegal censorship, lawsuits must be filed against these overreaching monopolies.

So stand up against censorship. Freedom of Speech is not about protecting speech you agree with but the speech you do not agree with. The Public Square is for everyone to enjoy.

Corporations of any size are not our parents. With corporate need to buy our politicians, create their own laws, and demand obedience from the public, perhaps it is time Americans redefine what a corporation is in our society. Right now, corporations are acting more like global government and not for which they were originally intended: to produce consumer products and services.

I do not remember that incorporation included being another branch to the American government.

Do you?

Stand by

Technical issues abound.

I love technology but sometimes it is a pain. It is either the modem or router slowly dying on me. At least with the modem the internet service provider has to replace that one. The other is on me.

I just wish they would make up their minds.

On or off? Reboot?

So when this issue is resolved, I will update more. Isn't life fun?

Have a great and wonderful day.

Technology is My Drug of Choice

There's nothing like getting yourself back into a state of euphoria.

I got my laptop and cpu monitor on my desk again. That makes my life less complicated. Granted, the technology of the laptop is a few years older than dirt and the Dell cpu is from the Jurassic era, but at least I can write on one computer and research with the other. (My tech is refurbed stuff so it's basically worthless to anyone but me.) A seamless transition of ideas. At least, it's the theory.

You don't know how much I have missed the ability to multitask.

Well, with brain inflammation, it is more like being reminded of what you are supposed to be doing by looking at the other monitor!

I do need new mice and keyboards. So some upgrades in the future are going to be necessary for my writing sanity. Still, I think I have what I need to do what I need to do... at least for the time being.

Now that I am set, I hope to update this blog a little more. I just have to get used to the computer chair. It hurts my back and lungs to sit up right. My muscles are not strong enough to support my skeleton yet.

I guess it's time to raid the bedroom closet for some pillows and a cushion!

Have a great and wonderful holiday weekend!
