An Authentic Reality Deserves an Authentic Writer

Are you living an authentic life? The Existential philosophy of the mid-20th Century asked questions like this one. A few thousand years earlier, Diogenes a Greek Cynic philosopher questioned the role of society and the validity of its psychological constructs.

Is your suspended belief interfering with you living the life you have always wanted to live?

The Ancient History Encyclopedia on Diogenes of Sinope reveals:
According to Diogenes society was an artificial contrivance set up by human beings which did not accord well with truth or virtue and could not in any way make someone a good and decent human being; and so follows the famous story of Diogenes holding the light up to the faces of passers-by in the market place looking for an honest man or a true human being. Everyone, he claimed, was trapped in this make-believe world which they believed was reality and, because of this, people were living in a kind of dream state. He was not the first philosopher to make this claim; Heraclitus, Xenophanes, and, most famously, Socrates all pointed out the need for human beings to wake from their dream state to full awareness of themselves and the world. Plato's famous Allegory of the Cave is devoted to this very theme. Diogenes, however, confronted the citizens of Athens daily with their lifelessness and shallow values, emulating his hero Socrates whom he never met but would have learned of from Antisthenes. Although it seems many people thought he was simply mentally ill, Diogenes would have claimed he was living a completely honest life and others should have the courage to do the same.
As we write, we search for truths in the people around us, the culture we live in, and within our own reality. If Diogenes as was the Existentialists on the road to somewhere, it was not the argument about being housebroken, but a deeper meaning of discerning our own reality as a fiction.

Humans live in a fictional world we have developed for our safety and security. The real world is the shadows we see on the wall in the back of our cave as Socrates described in his Allegory of the Cave. Writers need to separate what is reality and what is the social constructs we have devised for ourselves and our progeny.

Are you an honest person? Do you live honestly? Or, are you wrapped up in the social constructs of censorship, identity politics, and psychological terrorism?

American society and culture have been created for the benefit of a few. Divide and conquer, problem-reaction-solution create trigger moments of psychological harm and devastation. Without the psychological terror repeated on the news, in entertainment, and parroted in individual lives, these tactics would be ignored. We have a social construct where we have been told to fear reality because the shadows outside the cave are terrorists just waiting to do us harm.

Identity politics are the divisive analogies being taught to children as well as adults. You are in this box. You are in that box. You cannot identify in opposing boxes. Race, religion, and many others are the artificial construct. When we realize how damaging these politicized boxes of dishonesty have become, isn't it our duty as writers to expose the falsehood?

Diogenes did take his philosophy too far to the edge, but today's Roman culture and society, our decadence has swung the pendulum of discourse in the opposite direction toward Nero's mayhem. We need a balance. We need to correct the psychological terrorism of identity politics.

The only course is to eliminate the censorship that surrounds this social construct of public mythology. I recently debated some points from the Entertainment Industry. The online magazine, Variety, has posted some inventive and erroneous negative social constructs that undermine our society. In these rebuttals, I discovered how Penske Media Corporation's Variety will not debate a topic but rather triggers individuals into the Divide and Conquer scheme. I called them on this dishonesty.

What I discovered while investigating this claim of censorship was that the accusation is not unfounded. I too was censored because my beliefs did not coincide with social dishonesty. After being censored twice in the comments section, I did a screen capture:

As shown, my first reply was revised mid-sentence. The censor removed my article title and link. The second was calling Variety out on the deceptive practice, which then was removed in its entirety.

The original post was also censored by the removal of a link.

I have discovered that the censorship in our news media, entertainment, and online debates stem from the social constructs of identity politics and psychological terrorism in order to cocoon humans, in this case Americans, into Socrates' Cave. A false reality is a dishonest reality. Humans are not meant to live an inauthentic life.

How do we reconstruct our reality? The course we are on now has damaged people's understanding and perception of what our culture and society does. Not for dishonesty's sake, but our individualistic social constructs have furthered the human species while still allowing for varying viewpoints.

As a writer, I observe the world around me. I poke the bear. I slide open the envelope to see what awaits us on the other side of this life. Humans cannot go forward by going backward into this tyrannical world view of dystopic socialized conformity centered on the premise: inclusionary Social Darwinism.

Neither Diogenes nor Socrates would approve of furthering that type of dishonesty.

So as a writer, who are you going to be? Diogenes looking for an honest man? Socrates searching beyond the Cave for reality?

Or, are you going to write the socialized identity politics that further divides society into Nero's mayhem?

A Brief Discourse in Myths and Legends of Writing and Resources

"All the stories have been told!"
~the oldest known suicide note from a writer

I learned a small stone tablet lamented words similar to the above quote was found by archeologists when I studied literature at the college level. Was the instructor joking? Who knows? But the story still holds water, just read what scholars have discovered about Shakespeare.

According to a New York Times article, Plagiarism Software Unveils a New Source for 11 of Shakespeare’s Plays, Shakespeare used an earlier source study for helping to mold his characters and plays:
The findings were made by Dennis McCarthy and June Schlueter, who describe them in a book to be published next week by the academic press D. S. Brewer and the British Library. The authors are not suggesting that Shakespeare plagiarized but rather that he read and was inspired by a manuscript titled “A Brief Discourse of Rebellion and Rebels,” written in the late 1500s by George North, a minor figure in the court of Queen Elizabeth, who served as an ambassador to Sweden.
For any new writer, this information may seem like a blessing and a curse.

Have all the stories already been told?

What writers can learn from historical data, sources, and books is that story inspiration can manifest from the unlikeliest of places. Research into the past is not for naught and should be encouraged.

My fiction and poetry writings here on Undawnted are inspired by a combination of Shakespearean dramas and comedies, Joseph Campbell's comparative mythology and the hero's journey, and Jane Austen's tenets of good matchmaking as well as her realism perspective in her social commentary.

Just like Shakespeare, modern writers can be influenced and inspired by earlier works of fiction and nonfiction alike. A seasoned writer knows how to balance the past with the present to make the most of the future. Writing should entertain and inspire others in turn.

What book or author has inspired you?

Have a great and wonderful day!

The Entertainment Industry's Late Night Shows are Ignorant Dribble

This Variety article highlights the reasons I do not watch late night talk shows anymore. Americans who are educated in their history and politics understand how wrong, disrespectful, and ignorant sounding these hosts, comedians, and entertainers are. Isn't it time for the positive America to make a comeback?

Instead of working for a negative political agenda called Globalism where everyone gets smashed down by elitists' boots under a communistic/socialistic burden, perhaps we can return to the American founding documents and save the ideals that make America different from every other nation in the world. The media, including the entertainment industry, rather play the victim when in fact the media is victimizing an entire way of life.

Is freedom so wrong? People flock to the United States to flee communism, socialism, and tyranny. Yet the media promotes American values like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as ugly shades of gray. A place where only white male privilege creates inspiration, creativity, and motility.

I hate to break another myth to you, dear Entertainment Industry, but not all of us doers are from that privileged class. For one thing, I am disabled by illness. I did not go to an Ivy League University. My parents did not give me a cushy job or a trust fund. My parents were the working class poor, but I worked three and more jobs to go to community college and worked full time at that college to finish my state university education. I have worked as a babysitter, au pair, custodian, secretary, assistant, and manager to go through six years of higher education debt free. How many people can say that?

I guess my blue-eyes and dark blonde hair denote my "privilege." What a crock. My genetics come from Iranian tribes who first developed the blonde and red hair as well as green and blue eyed mutations. My grandmother was an immigrant who fled the Bolshevik Revolution in Belarus. So my heritage is a combination of Muslim, Christian, and Jew. Who would of thunk it?

The media is so enamored with itself yet it will NOT discuss what makes an American, an American. Most Americans are not from a true white stock. Americans have married and intermarried with every nation, religion, and creed. It is the media that is so focused on illegal aliens instead of celebrating what immigration has meant to this country. The media only focuses on the negative to further its own selfish agenda when being an American means having a varied genetic profile.

In the past, the United States has restricted access to this land for a variety of reasons including country of origin, health, and ability. These restrictions happened to protect the culture and economy. Today, illegal immigration not only places our citizens, culture, and economy in harms way, but also creates a black market of flesh, drugs, and sex. Black market humans have a significant dark effect on the surrounding environment. This negativity grows until the impact can no longer be denied, and America has come to this juncture.

The media is still in denial because the agenda is to move away from American ideals and values. This point can be seen by how Americans are treated by the media. Instead of baffling Americans with distraction after distraction, the media could educate but the media is too fixated on training Americans. Training someone to become reactionary is emotional and mental abuse. Educating someone to find wisdom is an act of freewill. The Entertainment Industry is using its power to influence in order to control and dominant like any abuser would to a would-be victim, in this case, the American public.

What prompted this abusive behavior in media? Look no further than the failed theory called: Globalism.

Globalist control of America is a real problem. A tyrannical force seeks to subdue the American spirit. The media is Globalism's favorite pimp trying to train us to turn tricks.

Globalism seeks to centralize power by social, political, and monetary means. Globalism has turned America into an unlawful and illegal surveillance state and is against American values like the 4th and 5th Amendments, Globalists push illegal immigration to conquer native people's for social and political control of regions. Low wage workers with little to no education are a corporation's dream and an American's nightmare. Monetary control is the pentacle of this abuse in the form of the Federal Reserve, which is a corrupt institution that puppeteers American politicians, interest rates, and bubbles, busts, and booms.

Americans as well as the Entertainment Industry need to return to their roots to combat this communistic and socialist agenda of Globalism:

The Declaration of Independence
The Constitution
The Bill of Rights

There is so much wrong in the world and the media facilitates this bias. Guilty before proven innocent is one. American media and entertainers slander and accuse people of wrongdoing yet provide no discernible proof and make no formal legal charges. These tantrums ruin careers and lives.

That is why the United States is a Republic and not a Democracy. America is not ruled by immaturity but by individual rights over mob rule. Accusations, slander, and other tenets of the Globalist dystopia are using mob rule to manipulate the American people away from their rights. Mob rule has given the history books: the Witch Trials, and the socialist riots in American streets a few years ago.

Again, that is why America is a Republic, not a democracy. Americans have rights. Americans don’t have privileges.

Tell that to the fake and dysfunctional media, including the Entertainment Industry.

I hope more people turn off the sloppy slop and poor excuses for entertainment until American values are returned to late night viewing.

The Descent is Featured in Nocturnal Redemption

I like to mix reality and genres together in my fiction writing, but this time, I made the name of my horror chapbook into a seedy bar, The Descent:

"Ryan exhaled what was and readied herself for what was meant to be. Solitary in the night, she stood outside another seedy establishment but this time the destination was for her personal research. With a deep inhalation of courage, Ryan entered the dive bar.

The Descent was another local hang out for the fringe of society. The customers wore black leather, multicolored hair, large tattoos, and abundant piercings. She often felt underdressed in her jean pants and jacket..."

If you are into the gritter side of poetry, please check out my chapbook, The Descent: a darker breed of poetry.

The Entertainment Industry is So Woke that They've Become a Broke Joke

I am an artist and writer. I am publishing my own novels and chapbooks. My art is well received as book covers for a variety of authors.

I love giving people a good story and a fresh perspective on today's issues through the allegories and metaphors of the paranormal and supernatural. I have debated on my site about: when is art imitating life considered a plot device versus social justice nonsense? Well, I believe I have figured it out.

When entertainment becomes the agent of misinformation, disinformation, and downright conspiracy theory, that is when the line is crossed. I would expect some blurring of the lines on a show like the X Files, but even this show went straight into having a social justice tantrum from aliens building a wall around the Earth to a Russian committee secretly under the auspice of the Executive Branch of the United States government. Click! Turning the channel on this show.

Other entertainment like award shows have gotten into the habit of promoting one point of view and culminating it into immaturity, disrespect, and falsities. These programs end up to be not worth watching at all. Click. Again.

If the Entertainment Industry took the time to actually research and educate themselves on the facts of the history of the USA, these people would see that there is more to the story than tit for tat. The USA has been corrupted at the highest levels and cannot be trusted until we get back to our founding documents. No more NSA spying. No more software back doors for hackers to steal our information so the government does not have to get a warrant. No more guilty before proven innocent. No more CIA propaganda within the borders of the United States. No more Fusion Centers. No more wars and profiteering. No more national security used to commit crimes. No more money laundering. No more Central Banking.

You know... reality.

However the Entertainment Industry is too much into kissing elite criminal asses, then doing the right thing. That is why programs and series are tanking in the ratings. Americans are tired of the incompetent, social justice warrior catastrophe.

The CW Network is one of the worst programming agendas I have ever seen. If people are not gay, then people are in biracial relationships. If you happen to be a straight and/or white character on the CW Network, then you most likely have a horrible time with life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. Talk about manipulative programming.

On one program, a Muslim character was brought on and the Jewish one was killed off. Are we tackling the Israeli-Palestinian fight on my television set? And, did the CW just take sides? Click.

I am a Generation Xer. I don't care if you are gay. I really don't care if you date across party lines. I don't care if you are Muslim. I don't care if you are Jewish. I just don't.

What I care about is balance. The Entertainment Industry has lost its way trying to tell me and everyone else what to think and how to live. That is not your job. The industry should be upholding American values of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Instead of reading the Federalist Papers, Hollywood in all its forms has been reading and implementing the Communist Manifesto.

Yawn.

You may be able to trick the Millennials with that garbage but not this Gen Xer. My grandmother fled the Bolshevik Revolution. So, I am not playin'.

I write about the factual and hidden history of the United States in my novels. Some would call me a Truther. Some would call me a Patriot. When all I am doing is using my education to research beyond the hype and hysteria seen on the news, online, and in the predictive programming of movies, sports, and television.

I don't have cable. I don't go to the movies. I don't subscribe if a streaming service sells social justice. I am about to cut off watching my programs like Supergirl, X Files, Arrow, Flash, and Black Lightning (or should I call the show: Black Lives Matter?).

I don't watch entertainment to be preached to, sermonized at. You are not my parents. You are creating problems where none has existed for some sadistic chuckle. I am frankly tired of it. Take the politics out of my shows. Or the next step is throwing out my television set.

Because, I hate to tell you this fact, Entertainment Industry, but your fifteen minutes are up.

Click.

Nocturnal Redemption: In the Eye of the Beholder has been Released!

This paranormal love affair is more than a vampire romance; this story reflects the realities of life. Love does not come simply. People who find each other often do so through challenges and over hurdles.

Ryan (ree-ann) and Jeremy are pinned between their own problems and the possibilities.

An excerpt from the novel, Nocturnal Redemption: In the Eye of the Beholder:
“I helped you.” Ryan showed no fear. With impunity, she glared into those luminous eyes. “I saved your life.”

Jeremy chuckled. “You think that argument will save you?”

“It should.”
He lifted his sword to her neck. The cold, damp steel pressed against her throat. “We’re even, professor- isn’t it?”

She gulped saliva then air. Horror rose in her heart. She scooted back toward the sidewalk. Relentless, he kept the blade under her chin. Her voice trembled in desperation.

“I’ll scream. Security will come.”

The man snorted. “You’re either brave or stupid.”

“I’m not stupid.” For a moment, Ryan did not know what her opponent would do. Would he repay her for saving his life? Or, would he kill her for it?
