On Undawnted, Life Matters When Writing

Tonight on Undawnted...

I did a load of dishes. I fed the birds and cats. I cooked dinner. I will be putting a chicken in the oven later this evening to keep the house warm. Then I will do a load of laundry after that.

Well, I cannot sit around and write all day!

Did you know that motivating helps your brain? If you get stuck writing, then take a walk or do some chores. Sunbathing is nice too. That is what I do.

With a chicken done, then I don't have to worry about cooking large meals for a few days. That is nice when you have 20K more words to write, and you don't want to break your concentration for too long.

The notes and scenes I will be doing this week will be enough to keep my mind busy. With the paying of my last two bills in the next couple of days, I won't have any money to spend. So, good thing I am a creative writer. Everything I need is in my head.

After Immortal Spellcaster is at my formatter on the 20th, I will be doing my Movie Reviews. Isn't that exciting? Spoilers too. (I give a warning!) I like to do five in depth reviews a month. I wanted to be a movie critic when I was a teen. Now, I am. I like how that worked out for me.

Then the blog/book tour will happen at the end of the month. I want to also add in a Book Events through my Sonoran Dawn publishing house.

December will begin with me finishing up Immortal Spellcaster. The break of doing reviews and tours will allow me to see my manuscript with fresh eyes. Then I will be able to correct any more mistakes that I may find and add whatever word count is left for me to do.

If done and polished, Immortal Spellcaster will be entered into a Contest.

Awesome!

I would love for the story to place. If so or not, I won't know until late into 2022. If the novel is returned without being optioned, then I will do a few more polish runs before publishing it myself. A good release time would be Winter 2022-23, don't you think?

December will see me expanding my short story, The Reality Hackers. This science fiction story will be made into a Novelette and entered into another contest.

That is a good story. I just have to have it in the hands of the right people, and of course, no more formatting issues! When you work with old technology and software, crap happens. You have to keep pressing forward.

I want to have a few novels and short stories published by third-party publishers in the next five years. As well as, I would like to have some original plays and scripts under production.

This is the life of a writer. Just make sure not to forget about your real life in the process. I don't. I even add some real life experiences in my fiction to make scenes and characters more realistic. Truth is stranger than fiction... and my truth is way stranger than that.

Have a great and wonderful day.

Birthdays, Attitudes, Chores and Wishes Galore!

I love when a migraine lasts for days.

Sometimes when things seem to go awry, other things fall into place. Interesting concept but it happened today. It's my birthday so good news should happen.

A little over four decades and I have survived more than my share. Actually, I'm giving away my share if anyone wants the bad stuff. I'm only into the good stuff now.

So I went to the store, got my bday dinner, and came home. I found a cab driver who doesn't use toxic chemicals and air fresheners so I am going to employ her this week. It is tough to find a cab that isn't so heavily scented.

As for me, I did my customary gambling. Once near my birthday and once by New Year's. I spent five dollars and won two back. Funny, funny, funny.  I never get that kind of return playing the lottery. I may stick with cheap scratcher's tickets from now on.

So on this bday post of mine, I am glad to be getting some things accomplished this week so I can get down and dirty with my actual chores next week.  Lots to do.  People who need their attitudes checked and paperwork to be sent off are all on my to do list.

I love people who believe that because I am disabled means that I am mentally handicapped and therefore deserve to be bullied or my favorite: talked down to. I am ill. Sick does not mean stupid.

Some people.

I guess their karma is going to find them some day. Well, I can only hope. I want to get beyond karma and investigate the reality of our reality.

Isn't that funny or what?

Have a great and wonderful day, I know I am!

Starving for Italian, Antioxdiants, and Adult Content

I admit it. I love pizza. Sometimes I must know a slice is in the freezer to make my life a little less dull.

Today for instance: I needed pizza! I was debating about going to the store and purchasing something healthy. I didn't want to go. I didn't want to mess with a cab. I didn't want to mess with high school kids. I didn't want to mess with people getting off work.

So I broke down. I order some pizza online at my favorite spot. My order arrived in record time... it was a slow afternoon. Good! I was really, really hungry.

To round off the fatfest, I wish Starbucks delivered too! hahaha!!!

But this small order should get me through today and the weekend. I have chores to do and sometimes I forget to plan ahead (thank you, brain inflammation) and I almost starve to death.

Luckily for me, I can keep my bill around $20 so I still have some emergency funds until the beginning of the next month. Here I was saving for a new pan... oh, well, hungry comes first before other necessities. I hate when my body goes into wasting mode, drops my sugar, and I have to suck on a soda or candy to level out so I can make something to eat.

I have diabetics on both sides of my family. I don't think my shakes are 100% sugar related. I think my issue is with the need for amino acids and protein. Just in case, I have taken out 90% of sweets, except for my cocoa mocha (unsweentened cocoa and a dash of international coffee) with some agave flavoring in the mornings. Sometimes evenings too!

Unsweetened chocolate is a great source of antioxidants. If I don't supply my body with chocolate, I will literally go hunting for it around the house or buy candy I do not need at the store. So I fix the fix everyday.

A great way to keep cravings in check. That is not to say have a Starbucks everyday. The little things matter more than the trendy.

Now I'm tired. Full. Relaxed and ready to watch Vampires Diaries. Yes, I know, I'm too old for the drama, but luckily I have no one to make me feel guilty about my viewing habits. That's what happens when you don't have cable. Oh, and I watch Lost Girl too! hahaha! Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the undersexed adult population. Can you say: soft porn on Netflix with a sword? ;)

Don't worry, I'm not into programs for the sexual content. I could really care less. I like quirky characters and different storylines. Anything to get my imagination flowing again so I can begin my own writing full time, well full awake time between chores and naps.

Well it's that time again when I bid you adieu. Good night!

Have a Very, Merry Spring?

Today it was warm. Tomorrow and the rest of this week will be in the lower 70's. Yippee!

Since I am chronically ill, my body cannot regulate its own temperature that well. Anything below 90 and I am breaking out the winter wear. As long as the house gets warm during autumn and winter afternoons, I am pretty well set to do some household chores.

Then as the sun sets, I take a shower and jump into bed. The cats get fed on or before dusk until the warmer temperatures of spring hit.

Right now as I type this post from my heavily blanketed bed, my feet are ice cold, my fingers tingle, my head hurts, and my eyesight is blurry. I do need new glasses but it's the roving migraine that I contend with nearly daily that puts pressure on the optic nerve and creates this vision problem.

Could be worse. I could have not learned to touch type and this post would be unreadable. I also increase the magnification on the pages so I can read bigger lettering. The red underlines of typing errors helps too.

As our weather stabilizes and we remain warm and dry, I will be getting to more of my house as the days commence. An hour of housework can create a happy area of cleanliness.

When the 90's return. so will the cleaning of the area rugs. I don't have carpet or tile because I am allergic to the chemicals. I have carefully laid out rugs. Vacuuming them does produce a breathing reaction even with my carbon mask on, but in the winter it is a necessity.

But it sure does not feel like winter, which is fine by me. The last few winters have been very cold with hard freezes and bushes being burned back. Not a fun sight. I rather have a mild winter so the humming birds can drink the nectar from my Golden Dew Drops' violet and white flowers.

So this week is a very, merry spring.

And no... you can keep your snow. I lived in Iowa before and you can still keep the snow. I live in the desert and I am happy.

Have a great one!
