Press Release: Futuristic Novelette, Mangled, is Available for Purchase

Mangled is the artificial intelligence, virtual reality, military, scifi, horror story that was first published in the Midnight Roost anthology, but is now its own novelette!

 

This narrative follows Specialist Sarah Mitchell: 

 

The only survivor of a roadside bomb, Specialist Sarah Mitchell lives most people's nightmare. Her entire squad is killed. In the bustle of a busy emergency triage center, she is forgotten. 

 

Worse than being ignored, once she is reevaluated, the medical personnel then abandoned her. In order to take care of other soldiers who might live, she is given a black morgue tag, left tied down on a gurney where she waits for death in a dark corner of a foreign hospital.

When she survives until morning, others come to claim her. One by the use of technology and the other by energetic consciousness, but both manipulate the quantum singularity. In an experiment to merge human consciousness with machine, which will consume Sarah, what will she do? 

Will she continue to serve her country in another capacity? Or, will she choose the unknown and walk into eternity with a complete stranger?

No matter what Sarah decides: living forever has its consequences. 

 

In this new publication, the story becomes extended and part of the Legacy Universe.

Happy New Year 2025! Let Undawnted be the Soundtrack for Your Imagination

Beginning a New Year is always exciting! 

But I began my resolutions a month early with the creation of two albums. One, I used my short story: The Town Santa Forgot as inspiration!

With the release of my holiday album: Yuletide Celebration, I promised Bonus Tracks. The first one is an old favorite to read on Yuletide Eve, and now it is set to music! Santa's coming...

T'was the Night Before Yuletide: 

The second and final Bonus Track is a New Year's Eve staple, Auld Lang Sine. This new rendition of this old favorite will leave you in tears by saying good-bye to the past year and hello to the new:

DL Mullan has been a musical wonder and performer for decades. 

A teacher noticed her abilities on her dynamic, and technically perfect, first use of the violin at age ten during class. She was rushed into Competitive Orchestra the next school year. In addition, she went to an Arts Magnet high school, where she pursued Concert Choir. 

DL Mullan has written music for competitions, competed in talent shows, won an award for her solo singing, as well as maintained her lyricist skills as an award-winning poet. 

With her classical training, as well as her grandfather's jazz pianist genes, both musical legacies will be reflected in her pieces.
